Bob Fiddler has worked as a marketing professional for nearly 30 years—as an executive at Fortune 500 retail companies, advertising agency Creative Director, and most recently as President of The Fiddler Group, an Integrated Brand Communications company located in Annapolis, Maryland. As a Writer, Art Director and Creative Director, he has won a number of awards.

He began his career at Spiegel, the pre-eminent direct merchandiser, where he worked in every category from fashion to home furnishings as a Copywriter, Art Director and ultimately General Advertising Manager for Home Furnishings. In the early 90s, he spent five years as Director of Advertising for Hechinger Company, a $2B home improvement retailer, followed by two years as VP/Creative Director at Universal Communications in Georgetown, where he worked on a variety of accounts, including Trak Auto, Sallie Mae and Feld Entertainment.

In 1999, he founded The Fiddler Group to help clients leverage the power of their brands to help their businesses grow over the long term, not just for the duration of a campaign. The Fiddler Group developed a unique process for brand development, including a trademarked brand discovery process, coupled with planning and creative services, which they have employed successfully for clients across a broad range of business categories, including retail, franchise and high tech. Clients have included the Smithsonian Institution, Siemens Medical Solutions, The Greene Turtle Sports Bar and Grille, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, USi, and Syntel, among others.

Mr. Fiddler earned a BA in English from Northwestern University and MS degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern’s Medill School, where he studied with some of today’s most notable figures in marketing and brand issues. He is Adjunct Professor of Marketing at both Georgetown University and a frequent speaker on Brand and Marketing issues.
